A visitor's gazette · Saudi Arabia
Several cities, not one desert
Riyadh is high and dry. Jeddah faces the sea. Diriyah is mud-brick. The rest of the map is not a backdrop.
The kingdom
Cities with different stone
Saudi Arabia is a set of cities with different weather, different stone, and different hours. Riyadh, الرياض, is a high, dry capital. Jeddah looks at the Red Sea. Diriyah is the old Najdi town just west of the capital. This gazette starts there, then walks north to AlUla and south to Asir.
Makkah and Madinah are pilgrimage cities. We do not publish a haram guide, and we do not use mosque interiors as decoration. Official sources cover those rules. The rest of the country is large enough without that.
Go Comsa Inform is independent. We do not sell rooms, tickets, or a SIM. Where a rule moves, we send you to the official page rather than freeze a number here.
Three starts
Riyadh, Jeddah, Diriyah
Read the capital, the old Hijaz port, and the mud-brick town that sits on the same wadi.

Najd
Riyadh
Wide roads, a long wadi, a clay fort, and a museum that holds the country's own timeline.

Hijaz
Jeddah
Coral houses in Al-Balad, a corniche on the Red Sea, and the old door to the Hijaz.

At-Turaif
Diriyah
Tamped-earth palaces on Wadi Hanifa. UNESCO listed. Historical, not a real-estate leaflet.
Staying connected
High-speed internet is ordinary here
Saudi cities run on fibre to the building. 5G covers the main roads and the home-wireless case where a trench has not arrived yet. A visitor with a local SIM or a hotel line is on a fast network.
- Fibre. Fixed broadband in Riyadh, Jeddah and the other large municipalities is typically fibre-to-the-home, not a copper pair.
- 5G. The mobile networks are 5G in the cities and along the highways you actually drive. Home 5G routers exist for apartments that wait on fibre.
- GO. Etihad Atheeb Telecom, branded GO, is one of the licensed operators. Their public quick-pay page is for people who already have an account.
This gazette does not sell SIM cards or broadband. Hotel wifi is usually fibre-backed. For a prepaid visitor SIM, buy from a carrier shop at the airport or in town; do not take a number from this page.

Further out
AlUla, Asir, the Red Sea
Sandstone in the northwest, green highlands in the south, and a long coast that Jeddah only begins.

Hegra
AlUla
Nabataean tombs in sandstone, an old mud town, and a winter walking season.

Highlands
Asir
Abha sits high enough that the air is cooler. The houses change with the rain.

Coast
Red Sea
Jeddah was the port. The water continues south past empty shores and island reefs.

Facts you can stand in

Each page starts with a place you can stand in. Arabic names appear once, in Arabic, beside the Latin form. Where a visa rule or a museum hour moves, we point at the government page. Start with arriving if you have not landed yet.
